Joe Edwards graduated from Imperial College, London, in 2001 as a mechanical engineer. He has undertaken private training in IT systems and programming, data resource management, and integrated quality systems. He currently works as a business analyst for a major multi-national company. He also has experience in archiving, cataloguing and preservation techniques for various media types.

He has a lifelong interest in genealogy inherited from his father and grandfather. His preferred field is medieval genealogy, but also has experience in the elaboration of his own ancestry. He has also provided active support for the Harleian Society over a number of years.

Joe has created the databases that underlie many parts of the Foundation's operations, and is responsible for the basic design of the Foundation's website, along with the Harleian Society's website. He is also Treasurer of the Foundation.
