Abstract by FMG - 04 Mar 2006
An account of the descendants of Arundell (Harundel/ Hirondelle), who came to Yorkshire before 1090, and was in the retinue of William de Percy I who died in the first crusade. The Arundel family was later closely associated with Sneaton where they had land holdings. The last Arundel at Sneaton was Johanna, whose son Reginald de Baius (fl.1230) inherited the land. Later, 17th century Arundels are also recorded in Whitby.
