| | Abstract of review by FMG - 02 Apr 2006 | | The volume reviewed is a calendar of the Latin parts of the cartulary of the manor of Fitznells in Ewell, Surrey, England, plus a transcript of the English portion. An appendix gives additional documents from the Cuddington deeds in the PRO. Most of the book however is an introduction and notes to the text. It is a masterly contribution to the manorial history of Surrey. The index is useful but somewhat capricious, with a confusing reference system. |
